The Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima warned that chaos might break in the Northern part of the country due to the ongoing violence and insecurity that are threatening to become a norm.
While speaking during the 5 kilometres Masaka-Luvu road commissioning in Nasarawa, the Vice President stressed on the repercussions of an uncurbed violence
He implored people to refrain from violence so that we can foster unity and good development in all sectors of the economy.
In Shettima’s words:
“It is easy to create unrest, but extremely difficult to restore peace once mayhem takes hold. We must prioritise actions that foster unity and harmony, not those that lead to anarchy.”
“There is no reason why we should be fighting each other. We should collectively stand against poverty, destitution, and backwardness, not engage in self-destructive strife.”
“The contract for this road was awarded in January 2023 with a completion period of 12 months. Before now, coming to this part of the state was not an easy task because of the bad nature of the road. But I am happy that today, the road has been well constructed.
“I want to commend the contractor for delivering the project according to specifications, and I believe that this road will be here for at least the next 15 years.”
Vice President Shettima also praised Abdullahi Sule, the governor of Nasarawa State for his devotion to embrace infrastructural development in the state.
While appealing to the entire nation to pursue peace that will enable more development, He also expressed his gladness over the timely completion of the Masaka-Luvu road.
