This is a very peculiar time, and a lot of things have happened in the last two to three months that the spread of the virus has persisted. As a result of these, there has been a massive meltdown in a lot of our activities as well as mental health, bringing a bout of emotional stress.
It is totally normal to feel out of place this period, and be lost on a lot of things, however, staying put in that corner is not so healthy for a good return back to reality. Truth be told at this point, there are quite a number of things that could put a strain to a stable emotional life, and some of them include; Loss of job, pay cut, death of a loved or the stress of lifestyle change that the pandemic has brought upon us.
The good news is, you don’t have to remain stuck in this trial period, and to keep your sanity, you can try some of these relief activities, and watch yourself emerge from the dark.
Reach Out
This is definitely not the time to hold back. Reaching out doesn’t show weakness, it simply means you are strong enough to identify your emotions and work on them to be a better version of yourself. However, you also have to put into consideration who you reach out to. Be sure that you won’t regret doing so, and even much scarier, you wouldn’t feel worse after the whole process.
In order to do this, you need to lay aside, every form of discouragement, including, and pay less attention to what people would think if they knew you were in such a state. It might also delight you to know that the person you think is watching you, is actually not even paying attention, because of their own personal challenges.
Censor your watch list
Most times, what we pay attention to with our eyes and ears have a way of registering in our subconscious, making us take certain decisions, as a result of this. Right now, there is a general message of the fear of the unknown, and this is spreading even faster than wildfire, we were always told about.
More than ever before, this is time you need to censor what you listen to and watch at the same. There is an emphasis on Listen and Watch because while we can’t control what we hear and see, we can always control what we pay attention to in terms of listening and actually watching.
Maintain a positive attitude
This almost sounds like a no brainer, till you actually decide to be intentional about it. At this time, positivity rules the day and it seems almost impossible to remain sane, without such an attitude. You are responsible for your emotions, and keeping them in check is your non-stop duty, in order to live a life, that has a capped limit to regrets, and disappointments.
If you are not sure about how you feel, why not choose to remain happy, word around town is that it is free, and you can choose to remain that way. People who you can relate to with a positive spirit, arent that way because they have no challenges, they have simply chosen the better side of the camp to pitch their tent, and that is the spirit that comes with positivity.
Help others
They say you cannot give what you don’t have, and truthfully, if you want to give yourself happiness, you have to dish it out and in large measure too! When you reach out to help others, it in return serves you a feeling of satisfaction that no mere meditation can work out.
Reach out to someone today, help them figure out something they have been trying to work out for a while, give that piece of advice you know would do that person well, give that gift to that person who you might need it more than you do, and see your happy gypsy emerge from the blues.
Life is about what we can give, and what we make of what we get if you ever feel pressured by the situation at hand, know that you are not alone.
