A 29-year-old man who is paralyzed from the shoulders down demonstrated during a live stream. With Elon Musk’s Neuralink computer chip implanted in his brain.
During the live stream, Arbaugh showed off his skills, moving the cursor around the screen with his thoughts and playing online chess like a pro. He explained how the chip, with its 1,000 electrodes, captures his brain’s neural activity and translates it into actions on the computer.
Describing the experience, Arbaugh said it felt like using the Force, just like in “Star Wars”! He underwent surgery to implant the chip, which he described as “super easy,” and was back home the next day with no issues.
Before the chip, Arbaugh relied on others for help with online games. Now, he can play to his heart’s content from the comfort of his bed, thanks to this groundbreaking technology.
Although there have been some challenges along the way, Arbaugh is grateful to be part of something that could change the world. He’s excited about the possibilities and believes this technology has already changed his life for the better.
