Finidi George has reportedly resigned from his position as head coach of the Super Eagles.
The news was disclosed by popular sports reporter Toyin Ibitoye on X a few minutes ago.
Ibitoye posted, “News just in: Finidi George @FinidiGeorge_FG has resigned from his @NGSuperEagles manager position.”
Finidi, a former Nigerian international and member of the iconic 1994 Super Eagles squad that clinched the nation’s second African Cup of Nations title, assumed the head coach role just last month.
As of now, neither the NFF nor Finidi George has confirmed the resignation.
His resignation follows closely on the heels of the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) announcement that they are seeking a foreign Technical Adviser due to a poor run in the World Cup qualifiers.
