Filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has issued a heartfelt plea to women, urging them to avoid becoming victims in Nigeria.
In a recent Instagram post, Njoku highlighted the harsh reality that women who suffer, even to the point of death, often face blame and are made to feel responsible for their own misfortunes.
Njoku’s message comes in the wake of a distressing incident involving two friends who traveled from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to Aba, Abia State, to meet a man they had connected with on Facebook.
The women have since gone missing, and the man, suspected of being an organ harvester, was killed while attempting to escape arrest.
Njoku emphasized the importance of vigilance and self-preservation, encouraging women to prioritize their safety in a society that can be unforgiving and accusatory towards victims.
