Nyesom Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, who is one of the recently appointed ministers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assumed office on Monday as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
In a loud speech, he issued a warning to illegal structural developers and vowed to demolish any illegal structure.
Wike is known for his drive for infrastructural development while he was governor of Rivers State, this is the exact reason many believed contributed to his emergence as the FCT Minister.
However, many residents of the FCT are not comfortable with his stern tone and manner of speech.
Some people have already demanded that he tread with caution and avoid raising more problems for the current administration, since there’s insecurity in the FCT and other states in the country.
Although there are expectations to be met by him, rendering people homeless is not a good option. Rather he should focus on the issues that really matter while solving the insecurity and economic problems.
