Rivers Command by Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun has appointed CP Olatunji Disu as the new Commissioner of Police for Rivers State.
CP Olatunji Disu has been named the new Commissioner of Police for Rivers Command by Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
Reports have it that Disu has replaced CP Nwonyi Emeka just three days after Rivers youths called for Emeka’s redeployment in a protest over alleged threats against State Governor Siminalaye Fubara.
According to NTA, seven more persons have also been reassigned to different commanders.

According to reports, about 24 lawmakers led by the House Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, sat at the Assembly auditorium the following day and commenced an impeachment proceeding against the Governor.
The House Leader, Edisos Ehie, on the same day at the Government House, Port Harcourt, who had earlier been suspended, told journalists that 26 of his colleagues sat and elected him as the new Speaker of the House.
