The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) following a rumour that Coronavirus might have been imported into the country have come out to debunk the rumour and reiterate the fact that Coronavirus is not in Nigeria.

It was rumored that a certain individual with suspected case of coronavirus checked into a private hospital in Lekki area of Lagos State.
The NCDC had investigated and released a statement in Abuja, that the individual came in from China and went in for routine medical checks as requested by his employers.

It was gathered by the NCDC,that the unnamed individual after the medical check up showed no sign of any symptom of Coronavirus. They stated in their report that the individual did not have Coronavirus.
The agency had told Nigerians to disregard the rumour and stop it from spreading further. They reiterated the fact that the Center is fully aware of the process of the disease identification and Confirmation and will investigate every suspected case to ensure that Nigerians are safe.
The NCDC had stated categorically that the Coronavirus is not in Nigeria and has engaged health workers and the Public on various enlightenment Programmes concerning the disease.
The agency had advised travellers from China in the last 14days to submit themselves for medical checks at their various centers.
Just recently the World Health Organisation (WHO) declared the Coronavirus a global Outbreak. Some Countries like the USA have placed travel restrictions on individuals coming in from China.
