Adesunmbo Adeoye, a clergywoman and mother of two boys with singer 2face Idibia, who is now married to Pastor David Adeoye, recently shared some heartfelt advice for single parents on social media.
In her post, she urged single parents to seek God’s guidance in finding partners who would not only be supportive spouses but also mentors to their children. She cautioned against making hasty or misguided decisions in the quest to find a co-parent.
Sunmbo wrote:
“When Jochebed, the mother of Moses, placed her son in a bassinet on that fateful day, she had no idea what the future held, but God did. He knew Moses needed a princess as a mentor for his great destiny, and He orchestrated that connection. Similarly, God is aware of your current needs and is ready to help you if you trust Him.
Dear single parent, don’t be overly concerned about finding someone who will be a parent, friend, and mentor to your children. God, who knows the end from the beginning, has a supernatural plan already in place. He will send the right person at the right time. Don’t rely solely on your own understanding and efforts. He knows what your children need for their future, and He will provide.
Just as God provided a mentor for my boys, He will answer your prayers for your children too. Remember, it’s a supernatural arrangement, beyond your efforts. My prayer for you is that in your efforts to find the right partner, you will not make the wrong choice. Let God guide you. It is in Him that you live, move, and have your being. When the time is right, open your heart to love again. A new, fulfilling life is possible, and with God, it will surpass your past.”
Sunmbo’s message emphasizes faith and trust in divine timing, encouraging single parents to lean on God for guidance and assurance in their journey.
