The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which is based in Kaduna State has declared the 2023 governorship election in Kaduna state non-valid.
In a split decision with a 2:1 vote, the tribunal ordered that a supplementary election must be held by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) within 90 days.
According to the report, the three-member panel headed by Justice Victor Oviawe ordered a rerun of the election in 24 polling places in seven wards of four local governments with 16,300 registered voters.
Reports also gathered that the decision was made via a Zoom meeting by the judges.
Recall that the decision was filed by a candidate for the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party and Isah Mohammed Ashiru.
While awaiting the final result as will be shown through the newly scheduled election date, the people of Kaduna State waits patiently to congratulate who wins the gubernatorial election.
