There has been a claim that suspected gunmen has kidnapped an assistant police superintendent in Toro town, Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
On Friday night, the gunmen were said to shoot sporadically and people began to run for safety.
According to an anonymous resident, the gunmen entered the town around 9:00 PM and started shooting in the air and people began to run as there was chaos.
He also mentioned that the frequent kidnappings in Toro Local Government have had an impact on the economic activities recently because people are reluctant to conduct business in the area due to fear of being abducted.
A member of the House of Representative, Ismail Dabo who represents the Toro Federal Constituency sympathizes with the people, he called the incident a regrettable one.
He assured the people that efforts will be put together to restore peace in the town and curb insecurity issues.
Although efforts were made, but there was no response to the confirmation of the Bauchi State Police Command, despite all attempts to obtain it.
