Yesterday Nigeria completed the group stages of the AFCON 2023 with a 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau.
The goal was scored by Opa Sangante, one of Nigeria’s player. This goal paved way for the Super Eagle’s qualification into the next phase of the African Cup Of Nations.
WIth this victory, Nigeria goes straight through to the Round of 16, although they progress as runners-up behind Equatorial Guinea, leaving the Super Eagles to face the second-placed team in Group C, which will be one of Cameroon, Senegal or Guinea.
With Senegal currently topping Group C with six points, while Guinea is second with four points, Cameroon have one point and Gambia have lost all their opportunities.
The Super Eagles’ Round of 16 game will be played on Saturday, January 27 by 9pm WAT with TBD all still at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny stadium.
