The House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum Downstream and Midstream convened a joint press conference at the National Assembly Complex yesterday, offering assurance that the lengthy queues at fuel stations nationwide would dissipate “in a couple of days.”
Chairman of the Committee on Petroleum Downstream, Ikenga Ugochinyere, and his Petroleum Midstream Committee counterpart, Odianosen Okojie, attributed the scarcity to hoarding and affirmed the availability of fuel.
They urged law enforcement agencies to apprehend hoarders and vowed to address economic sabotage in the distribution chain.
Also, they urged traders to refrain from exploiting the situation, assuring that the temporary challenge would soon be resolved, with an abundance of fuel reserves reportedly available.
