In a shocking development, Olugbenga Olawore, a pastor associated with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), was among the unfortunate passengers abducted during an ambush on a 14-seater bus traveling in Oyo State.
According to reports from Daily Post, the abduction took place on Friday, causing widespread concern about the safety of travelers in the area.
The incident occurred as the bus, destined for Lagos State, was intercepted by unidentified gunmen along the Maya axis of the Lanlate-Eruwa Road around 5 p.m. on Friday evening.
Pastor Olawore, who serves at the Heavens Gate Parish of RCCG in Lagos Province 73, was among those on board heading towards their destination when tragedy struck. He had been traveling after attending to matters related to his late mother’s burial in Ipapo town.
Confirming the distressing event, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, SP Adewale Osifeso, acknowledged the abduction and assured the public that investigations were ongoing.
Responding to inquiries from Daily Post, SP Osifeso stated, “Investigations are in progress. Updates will be provided accordingly.”
