Following the sentencing of Mr. Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, to a six-month term by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court, the Nigerian Correctional Service has issued assurances of his safety within the male prison facility.
Acknowledging Bobrisky’s gender identity as male, affirmed during court proceedings, the Correctional Service has pledged to implement stringent measures to shield him from potential harm during his incarceration for misuse of funds.
In response to concerns about the risk of sexual assault from fellow inmates, prison officials have reassured Bobrisky that adequate precautions will be taken to safeguard his well-being.
Emphasizing the commitment to ensuring his protection, they have underscored the readiness of their personnel to intervene and prevent any instances of abuse.
