Cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been sentenced to six months in prison with no possibility of a fine by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
The verdict was delivered on Friday morning, April 12. Bobrisky was arraigned by the EFCC on April 5 on a six-count charge, including Naira abuse and money laundering.
The court also directed that he be remanded in EFCC custody in Lagos. The judgment was initially scheduled for April 9, but due to the Eid-Fitri public holiday from April 9 to April 11, the court was unable to convene.
Although the money laundering charges were dismissed, he was convicted of Naira abuse after admitting to the offense.
