During a recent episode of the London 90 podcast, Bella Shmurda expressed gratitude for the significant role Olamide, the renowned rapper and YBNL Nation boss, played in shaping his musical journey.
Shmurda emphasized that if his children were to inquire about his support system in life, he would mention Olamide before even mentioning his own mother.
“In my life, if my children ask me who helped me, I’ll mention Olamide first before I mention my mother,” he asserted.
Shmurda highlighted Olamide’s ongoing support for African music award shows, applauding him as the only top artist on the continent with international acclaim who consistently backs such events.
“Olamide is the only top artiste that is successful internationally and still supporting African music awards,” Shmurda remarked.
He contrasted Olamide’s commitment to African award shows with other artists who prioritize attending the Grammys over local ceremonies like the Headies Awards.
Recalling the pivotal moment in his career, Shmurda acknowledged that his breakthrough came after collaborating with Olamide on the remix of his song ‘Vision 2020,’ which propelled him to prominence.
