A woman has been sentenced to four months in prison for assaulting KAI officials who apprehended her for failing to utilize a pedestrian bridge.
She was among the 46 individuals apprehended by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) in the Oshodi and Ile Epo areas of the state.
During her resistance to arrest, the woman assaulted and ripped the uniform of the enforcement officers.
This incident underscores the Lagos government’s stance that crossing highways without using designated pedestrian bridges is a punishable offense.
Consequently, over 63 individuals have been arrested at various locations for disregarding this regulation.
