Renowned comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has recently addressed the speculations surrounding rumors of him fathering a child out of wedlock.
The comedian sparked a flurry of reactions when he celebrated the birthday of a 17-year-old boy whom he affectionately referred to as his “son” on Instagram.
Setting the record straight, AY clarified that the young boy is not his biological son but rather his younger sister’s child.
During the Easter edition of his show, AY Live, the comedic icon shed light on the misunderstanding, emphasizing the familial connection. He explained,
“I want to shed light on how social media operates. Often, there’s a narrative that circulates, and people simply follow it without conducting any investigation. When I shared a post of my son on Instagram, I received a barrage of insults. People said, ‘This man is useless, he fathered a 17-year-old child out of wedlock.’ But let me clarify, ladies and gentlemen, the son I posted on Instagram… your sister’s son is also your son. He was born to my younger sister.”
