The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the tragic death of ten-year-old Israel Ogunleye, who was reportedly strangled by another ten-year-old, Evbota Ezekiel, in the Ejigbo area of the state on March 28.
According to reports, the father of the deceased informed the police that his son was playing football with some boys at Oluwole Street, Powerline in Ejigbo, near his mother’s shop.
An argument ensued among the boys, during which Ezekiel allegedly held Israel by the neck and strangled him to death.
Upon receiving the report, police authorities promptly visited the scene and discovered the lifeless body of the victim.
The body was then transported to the General Hospital Isolo, where medical professionals confirmed his unfortunate demise upon arrival.
Subsequently, the body was transferred to the mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing.
