The family of the late Herbert Wigwe, the former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, has released the burial arrangements for him, his wife Chizoba, and their son, who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in the US on February 9.
The funeral events are set to begin with a celebration of the professional legacy of Herbert Wigwe at the Eko Hotel in Lagos on March 4. The commemoration will culminate with an outing service at the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG), Lion of Judah Parish, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers, on March 10.
Separate ceremonies will honor the lives of Chizi and Chizoba on March 5 at the Eko Hotel in Lagos, followed by a night of tribute a day later at the same venue.
A combined service of songs is scheduled for March 7 at the RCCG, Resurrection Parish, Lekki, followed by a Christian wake-keeping at Wigwe University, Isiokpo, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers.
The culmination of the funeral proceedings, including a combined funeral and private internment service, will take place on March 9.
Notably, the City of David parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, where the late Wigwes worshipped, was excluded from the burial program. This decision comes after the pastor’s wife, Siju Iluyomade, hosted a birthday party shortly after Herbert Wigwe’s demise. The exclusion has sparked discussions, with some suggesting that the pastor’s wife should have postponed the celebration due to the unfortunate incident.
