About 1500 Central Bank members of Nigeria have been redeployed from the headquarters and will resume in Lagos on Friday 2nd February 2024.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has stated that the relocation of some of the CBN staff and Federal Airport Authority of Nigerian (FAAN) from Abuja will resume in Lagos for efficiency.
This was mentioned in a press release that was issued by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who urged Nigerians not to yield to any information regarding political interest as the reason for the relocation of staff from the CBN to Lagos. Another source from Apex Bank said;
Yes, the plan is still on and they will resume work by February 2, the first week of next month”.
While reassuring the public of the real reason for the relocation of some members to Lagos, the CBN management assured the public that this is solely for the continuous economic growth of the nation and also to decongest the CBN head office for efficient performance.
