David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, a Nigerian afrobeat singer praises his junior colleague Rema over his achievement in the United States of America.
In a recent interview with UAE’s #1 Music State, The Kris Fade Show, Davido expressed his joy for Rema over his song ‘Calm Down’ that made it to a top slate in music charts in the U.S.
Davido stated that it beat his imagination that Afrobeat has grown globally and that he’s proud to see stars like Rema killing it across the globe.
The artiste (Davido) said
“Years ago, I never thought a Nigerian artiste would have a Top 5 record in America. Rema has had Top 5 records in America for the past eight months, non-shaken,”
It is worth noting that Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ and its remix featuring Selena Gomez recently achieved a new feat as the first Nigerian song to stay a year on the U.S. billboard.
Without omitting the excitement in O.B.O fans as they took to the comment section and poured their admiration for his simplicity and honesty in the music industry, the joy in the air seemed contagious and many were pleased with both Rema and Davido.
