Femi Fani-Kayode, the Nigerian Politician and Lawyer had shared via Social Media his love for the Igbo man who he says kneels before no man except his “Chi”. A quote by Senator Abaribe.. “Chi” in this context is mainly referred to as “God or a supreme being”.
This is coming after a quote he attributed to Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe, the Minority leader of the Senate,who Femi Fani-Kayode quoted on his Twitter handle as saying “The Igbo man doesn’t kneel for anybody except his Chi”.
Femi Fani-Kayode in his tweet had extolled the virtues of the Igbo man whom he said were a set of strong willed people. He referred to them as defiant and strong warriors who bow to no mortal being.
“I really dig that about them he wrote, they bow to no mortal but to God. Such a people cannot be crushed or broken”
Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe has been in the news last Wednesday for calling President Muhammadu Buhari to resign for his inability to tackle the serious security issues plaguing the Country, Nigeria.
This statement of his caused a stir on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday. He was quoted as saying that he was surprised at President Buhari’s attitude towards the alarming rate of security challenges in the country..
He said” Nigerians will go to the government and ask the government to resign because they did not elect the chief of staff, Police IG, Service Chiefs and others.
He went on to say that the government had failed in its primary responsibility of securing the lives and properties of Nigerians of which they were voted for in the first place.
However, in response to Senator Abaribe’s comment, the Presidency had said that the call for President Buhari to resign was “Foolish”.
They also added however,that should he leave “there are millions of other Nigerians who need to resign,including Senator Abaribe who Unlocked the door to enable the escape of traitorous and treasonable suspects” They added that the Senator ought to be in Jail for failing to produce Nnamdi Kalu who he stood as surety for.
President Buhari to resign on what Basis? they responded!
A lot of Nigerians have reacted to this statement from the presidency and that this was not the basis of the matter and mandated them to tackle the insecurity plaguing the country.
However Senator Abaribe has replied the Presidency that the Igbo man doesn’t Kneel for anybody except his Chi
It’s amazing that the federal government will resort to what Fela calls Yabis instead of addressing the vital issue. Abaribe said security issue is degenerating at an alarming rate and demands the resignation of the president and instead of addressing the issue the presidency resorted to Yabis ‘ Abaribe should resign first’ I think the spokesperson at the presidency should kickstart the resigning
