Details of the Charges
The teenager faces 22 charges relating to alleged sexual offences and the possession or creation of prohibited images.
The charges include one count of rape, one count of rape of a child under 13, and one count of assault by penetration.
He also faces 12 counts of sexual assault and three counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
The remaining charges relate to two alleged counts of creating an indecent image of a child, one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child, and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
The allegations include claims that the defendant touched some of the girls over and under their clothing. The court also heard an allegation that he slapped one of the girls on the bottom.
One of the image-related charges reportedly concerns the alleged possession of three Category C images of children.
The defendant has denied the charges by pleading not guilty. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Trial Date Set for Next Year
The teenager appeared in court accompanied by his mother and was formally arraigned from a seat at the back of the courtroom.
Judge Rebecca Crane informed him that his trial is scheduled to begin on October 25, 2027.
The trial is expected to last between three and four weeks.
The proceedings will allow the prosecution and defence to present their respective cases before the court determines the allegations.
Teenager Granted Conditional Bail
The court granted the defendant conditional bail pending trial.
Under the conditions, he must not contact the alleged victims or witnesses. He has also been instructed to avoid unsupervised contact with girls under the age of 16 and to engage with the Youth Justice Service.
The restrictions are intended to remain in place while the case proceeds through the legal system.
The case is expected to return to court ahead of the scheduled trial.
As the defendant has pleaded not guilty, the charges remain allegations until determined by the court.
The case is proceeding through the criminal justice system in England and Wales, where the Crown Prosecution Service provides guidance on criminal prosecutions and court proceedings.
