Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are reportedly on course for the biggest paydays of their professional boxing careers when the two British heavyweight superstars finally meet in a blockbuster showdown.
The long-awaited all-British fight is scheduled for December 11 at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, bringing together two former heavyweight world champions who have spent years at the centre of boxing’s biggest conversations.
The financial numbers surrounding the fight are just as eye-catching as the matchup itself.
The total purse has been estimated at around $200 million (£150 million), with promoter Frank Warren saying Fury and Joshua will receive an equal 50-50 split.
That would potentially give each fighter up to £75 million ($99 million) for one night in the ring, although the final amount each boxer receives can depend on contractual terms, deductions and other commercial arrangements.
If the reported figures are realised, the fight would produce the largest payday ever received by a British boxer.

Frank Warren confirms equal split
Fury and Joshua will reportedly enter the contest on equal financial terms.
Speaking to talkSPORT about the deal, Warren described the arrangement as a straightforward 50-50 split.
“The money side of it is very simple – it’s a straight 50/50 split,” the promoter said.
Warren also described the contest as the biggest fight in British boxing history and said it would generate the largest purse ever seen by a British fighter.
The financial agreement reflects the commercial value both heavyweight stars bring to the table.
Fury has built a huge international following during his career, while Joshua has remained one of Britain’s biggest boxing attractions since winning an Olympic gold medal at the 2012 London Games.
Fury and Joshua chasing career-best earnings
Both fighters have already collected enormous purses from previous heavyweight blockbusters.
Fury’s career earnings have been boosted by his two fights with Oleksandr Usyk, particularly the undisputed heavyweight championship contests that attracted worldwide attention.
Joshua has also earned substantial sums from his biggest fights, including his world-title clashes with Usyk and other major heavyweight opponents.
However, a potential £75 million payday each would reportedly surpass their previous single-fight earnings.
The financial scale demonstrates why Fury vs Joshua has remained one of boxing’s most commercially attractive matchups, even after years of negotiations and speculation.
Saudi Arabia’s Turki Alalshikh involved
The fight has reportedly been put together with the involvement of several major figures in global sports and entertainment.
Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chief Turki Alalshikh has played a prominent role in bringing major boxing events to the Middle East and is involved in the Fury-Joshua project.
UFC CEO Dana White and streaming giant Netflix have also been linked to the event.
The involvement of major international commercial partners could significantly increase the fight’s global reach.
Revenue is expected to come from several sources, including worldwide distribution, sponsorship agreements, venue-related income and other commercial partnerships.
Netflix’s involvement could also expose the fight to a massive international audience outside the traditional boxing pay-per-view model.
London launch comes before Cardiff showdown
Before Fury and Joshua finally enter the ring, the two fighters are expected to appear together in London on September 30 for the initial promotional launch.
The event will provide the first major opportunity for the heavyweight rivals to face the media together ahead of their December showdown.
Interest is expected to be enormous, given the number of years boxing fans have waited to see the pair share a ring.
Both fighters have previously expressed interest in fighting one another, but negotiations repeatedly failed to produce the matchup.
Now, with the December 11 date reportedly secured, attention is turning toward the promotional build-up and the sporting stakes.
A fight years in the making
Fury and Joshua represent two of the most recognisable names in British heavyweight boxing.
Fury became a world champion after defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 and later returned to the top following a lengthy absence from the sport.
Joshua won Olympic gold before becoming a professional world champion and establishing himself as one of the division’s biggest stars.
Although both men have experienced setbacks during their careers, their names have remained closely associated with major heavyweight events.
Their eventual meeting therefore carries significance beyond the reported payday.
Record payday awaits
The reported $200 million purse places enormous financial expectations on the December showdown.
If the estimated figures are accurate, Fury and Joshua could each earn as much as $99 million, making the contest the biggest financial event of either fighter’s career.
For British boxing, it could also set a new benchmark for the commercial value of a domestic heavyweight fight.
But before the money is counted, Fury and Joshua still have to settle the biggest question of all inside the ring.
After years of anticipation, the two British heavyweight stars are now scheduled to meet in Cardiff on December 11, with a potentially record-breaking payday waiting for both fighters.
