The long-awaited Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua heavyweight showdown is expected to take place in November, according to Tyson Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren.
The announcement has reignited excitement among boxing fans worldwide, with many believing the all-British clash could become one of the biggest heavyweight fights in recent history.
Speaking with Boxing Scene, Warren revealed that preparations for the blockbuster contest are progressing, although he stressed that the official announcement remains the responsibility of Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh.
According to Warren, discussions have continued regarding the venue for the fight.
While Wembley Stadium in London was initially considered the leading option, scheduling complications related to broadcast times for international audiences have increased speculation that the bout could instead be staged in the United States.
Madison Square Garden in New York has emerged as one of the venues strongly linked to hosting the contest, although no official location has yet been confirmed.
Warren explained that organisers had explored the possibility of adjusting Wembley Stadium’s schedule to accommodate a later start time.

“Of course I do, but they contacted Wembley, didn’t they, Sela, and asked if they would push the time back and, as far as I understand, that has not happened.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the venue, Warren expressed confidence that the fight will happen in November.
He also noted that both Fury and Joshua remain fully committed to finally settling one of British boxing’s biggest rivalries.
“We have our arrangement and promotional arrangement with Tyson but it is not for me to announce what is going to happen with that fight yet. You have a big fight coming up with the two senior heavyweights in Tyson and AJ. Everybody is waiting for that to happen in November and be announced.”
The proposed fight has been discussed for years but has repeatedly failed to materialise due to contractual disputes, mandatory title obligations and scheduling conflicts.
Now, with both men entering the latter stages of their careers, boxing fans are eager to finally witness the contest many have wanted for nearly a decade.
Warren dismissed suggestions that the fight has lost its significance because it is happening later than originally expected.
Instead, he argued that memorable heavyweight contests have often featured experienced fighters who still possessed the determination to compete at the highest level.
He pointed to Wladimir Klitschko’s memorable clash with Anthony Joshua in 2017 as an example.
“The fact is it didn’t and what we have got is what we have got now. We have two guys who are getting very well paid but, more importantly, they both want to win the fight in a big way.”
According to Warren, pride will be one of the biggest motivating factors when the two British heavyweights finally step into the ring.
Neither fighter, he believes, wants to be remembered as the loser in what could become one of the defining bouts of their careers.
“Neither wants to be the loser. There comes a time in some fighters’ careers where people think they are maybe not at their best but they go and dig deep to find something else.”
The promoter expressed complete confidence in Fury’s chances, predicting the “Gypsy King” would emerge victorious once the opening bell rings.
“These two guys will have to dig deep when they fight each other because they both want it and we’ll find out who wants it the most. Me? I say all day long it is Tyson but we’ll find out when that first bell goes.”
A victory for either boxer would significantly enhance their legacy.
For Tyson Fury, it would reinforce his status as one of the greatest heavyweight fighters of his generation.
