Veteran Fuji musician Remi Aluko has touched the hearts of many Nigerians after revealing that he can no longer see with his eyes due to a long-term battle with glaucoma.

The respected singer made the emotional disclosure during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he spoke candidly about his health challenges and how he has been coping with the condition over the years.

Known for his energetic performances and contributions to the Fuji music industry, Remi Aluko’s revelation came as a shock to many fans who were unaware of the severity of his health condition.

During the interview, the singer explained that he has been battling glaucoma for several years. Despite undergoing eye surgery in the past, his vision has continued to deteriorate, leaving him in a situation he described as being no different from that of a blind person.

According to him, many people around him are unaware of the extent of his condition because he has intentionally chosen not to allow it to define his life or affect his public image.

“I am a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself, and currently, I’m not seeing. There is no difference between me and a blind person now, but many people don’t know because I don’t allow my condition to weigh me down,” he said.

The singer’s courage and determination have attracted admiration from fans across social media. Despite facing a life-changing health challenge, Remi Aluko said he has learned how to adapt and take care of himself independently.

He noted that although his eyesight has been severely affected, he remains grateful for life and continues to push forward rather than focus on his limitations.

His comments highlighted the emotional and psychological struggles that often accompany serious health conditions. For many people living with chronic illnesses, the battle extends beyond physical symptoms to include mental and emotional challenges.

Remi Aluko admitted that he deliberately avoids dwelling on his condition because he does not want to fall into depression.

“Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed,” he explained.

His statement has resonated deeply with many Nigerians, particularly those facing personal health challenges. Several social media users praised the musician for maintaining a positive outlook despite his circumstances.

Many fans described his story as inspiring, noting that his resilience serves as a reminder that life can still be meaningful even in the face of adversity.

The revelation has also sparked conversations about glaucoma, a serious eye disease that can gradually damage the optic nerve and lead to permanent vision loss if not properly managed.

Medical experts often describe glaucoma as a “silent thief of sight” because symptoms may not be noticeable during the early stages. As a result, many people do not realize they have the condition until significant vision loss has already occurred.

Health advocates have used Remi Aluko’s story to encourage Nigerians to prioritize regular eye examinations and seek medical attention whenever they notice changes in their vision.

Beyond the health discussion, many fans have taken the opportunity to celebrate the singer’s contributions to the Fuji music industry.

Over the years, Remi Aluko has built a reputation as one of the respected voices in Fuji music, entertaining audiences with his unique style, energetic performances, and dedication to his craft.

His music has earned him a loyal fan base both within and outside Nigeria, making him a familiar figure among Fuji music lovers.

Following the interview, messages of support and prayers poured in from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers who expressed sadness over his condition while wishing him strength and comfort.

Many also commended his bravery for speaking openly about a personal struggle that many public figures might choose to keep private.

As discussions continue online, Remi Aluko’s story serves as both a reminder of the realities of serious health conditions and a testament to the power of resilience.

While his battle with glaucoma has affected his vision, his determination to remain positive and continue living his life with dignity has inspired countless people.

For many fans, the veteran musician’s message goes beyond eyesight—it is about courage, hope, and refusing to allow life’s challenges to take away one’s spirit.

As prayers and support continue to pour in, Nigerians remain hopeful that Remi Aluko will continue to find strength in his journey and inspire others facing similar battles

Send your prayers and well wishes to Remi Aluko as he battles this difficult health challenge.
