Nigerian singer Terry Akewe, popularly known as Terri, recently shared the various challenges he faces in his music career, including health problems and cyberbullying.

Terri gained prominence after signing with Wizkid’s Starboy Records and featuring on the hit song “Soco.” He later released his first EP, “Afro Series,” which includes popular tracks such as “Shuu,” “Turn on Me,” “Bia,” and “Same You.”

In a heartfelt social media post, Terri opened up about the difficulties he has encountered in the music industry.

He candidly spoke about dealing with anxiety, health complications, losing friends, and financial struggles.

He revealed, “Ulcer complications, anxiety issues. In and out of the hospital. Crazy hospital bills, mum losing her mind, all for the music. Shit crazy. Jesus never fails. We will win finally.”

Terri further highlighted the personal toll his career has taken, saying, “Lost friendships, family, just trying to find myself. Stanship war and distractions, something I know little or nothing about.”

He pleaded for understanding and support, stating, “Please, just see Terri for Terri. This shit is my whole life…. Support my craft.”

Reflecting on his educational sacrifices, Terri disclosed his struggles with tuition fees and his decision to prioritize music over academics.

“In 2018, after getting admission into UNILAG three times and couldn’t make it because of finances, I was ready in 2018 to begin study, I quit because of this music. I gave my all to it,” he said.

Terri also addressed the impact of cyberbullying on his mental health, admitting, “Since I got in here, I have suffered so much cyberbullying. All I wanna do is sing.”
