A new mother has pleaded for assistance after her husband allegedly abandoned her at Alimosho General Hospital in Igando, Lagos State.
She explained that she became pregnant soon after their wedding. As her due date neared, she experienced severe pain and breathlessness, prompting a hospital visit where doctors determined she needed a cesarean section (CS).
Her husband opposed the CS and insisted on her discharge. Once home, he provided her with a herbal concoction to induce natural labor. After consuming it, her pain worsened, and she was rushed back to the hospital for the surgery. Desperate for help, she shared her plight on Facebook, and a compassionate Nigerian sent her N500,000.
She gave part of the money to her husband to cover the surgery costs, but when the time came for the procedure, he was nowhere to be found. Ultimately, she entrusted the remaining funds to her sister-in-law, who ensured the surgery was completed.
Post-surgery, her husband returned, only to be confronted by his sister, who threatened legal action. He then confessed to using the money meant for the surgery to buy a phone and a dog. The new mother claimed her husband subsequently abandoned her and their newborn in the hospital, leaving her in a precarious situation.
She continues to struggle with swelling legs and has exhausted her resources on surgery, tests, and medications. Sharing her story with proof, she has received donations from kind-hearted Nigerians to support her during this difficult time.
