Ikubor Divine, a Nigerian artiste known as Rema has emerged as the winner of the First Best Afrobeats Award winner at the MTV Video Music Award held in New Jersey, United States of America.
His hit record “Calm Down” which he collaborated with Selena Gomez hits as a world record afrobeat. Organizers of the show revealed that Rema’s ‘Calm Down’, Burna Boy’s ‘It’s Plenty’, Davido’s ft Musa Key’s ‘Unavailable’, Libianca’s ‘People’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, Fireboy DML’s ‘Bandana’, and Wizkid feat Ayrra Starr’s ‘2 Sugar’, were all nominated as the best afrobeats category 2023.
However, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ became the best of the First Best Afrobeats Award.
